Gaining Consistency

Well here's my situation.

First off, i'm not saying that i'm the best player of LoL, at most i'm average atm and I am trying to get better at this game.

With that being said, are there any tips and tricks to being a more consistent player in LoL? I feel that my efforts in game fluctuates too greatly to ever be positive overall.

Take this ss of the matches i played today:
http://i54.tinypic.com/690h.jpg

Overall It was a day of losses but i did have a victory or 2 in there.

Akali: 8/1/9

I couldn't carry them hard enough. Poor map control, and very bad initiations sealed this one up.

Ezreal: 4/1/13

After our Lux lost mid, she afk'd and the rest of team besides myself decided to give up. I tried to keep them playing but 1 vote against 3 doesn't stop the surrender vote.

Orianna: 6/4/12

I had an early game lead on the Malzahar I was laning against, but i wasn't able to convince my team to capitalize on this and we ended up losing 4v5 once our Garen left the game.

Ezreal: 13/4/15

After acing the enemy team, I was unable to get my team to play more aggressive and to push lanes.

Taric: 0/3/5

Poor Jungle ganks and not focusing the right targets (ie. the stunned AD carry) sealed this defeat up.

Caitlyin: 3/2/7

This was my warmup match so i wasn't all bright-eyed and alert. I take the blame on this one 100%

---------------------------------------------

Granted, 95% of the games i played today, I had feeders on my team, but they're not the issue. As it stands right now, I am inconsistent in my Carry playstyle and i need advice on how to remedy the situation. And yes, I took all the blame for my team, because in the end, i couldn't carry them to victory, so i failed at being a carry.

These are some general tips; take them as they are.

1. Farm consistantly. As a carry, your #1 priority is to have as much gold as possible. Kills do not net as much gold as straight up farm. Find an effective method to farm in all situations for one character, and use that to transition it onto every character you play. Learning what your champion can and cannot do for last hitting at certain stages of the laning phase and the game will greatly increase your farm and carry potential.

If you're not getting at least 100 minions in the first 15 minutes, you are not farming well enough. There are exceptions, but generally that's if you are a very weak laner or if you're against a very strong laner.

2. Never die. If you have to lose your tower to not die, always take it. Don't go into a harass game if you either can't handle counter-harass, run out of mana very easily, or have less minions than the opponent.

3. Lead your team. If you are able to get a lot of gold, do a lot of damage, and stop yourself from dying, your team will more likely follow you. People are much more likely to trust someone who gets results. If you ping dragon while you and three pubs are almost done taking a tower, they are much more likely to do it than if you simply go there or say it in chat. Ping it twice if you have to.

4. Be responsive. If your lane is being ganked, make sure you use your abilities in any way possible to do as much damage as possible to the enemy team. A successful gank is one of these things, in least desirable to most desirable:

-Enemy champion uses a summoner spell to avoid all damage
-Enemy champion uses a significant amount of mana to avoid dying
-Enemy champion dies
-Enemy champion is low and forced to go back

An enemy champion having to go back home is more desirable than killing them directly, in most cases. Assuming you have adequate warding, you are able to push the lane effectively, delay the jungler from arriving (assuming an unorganized team and the gank being when the lane wasn't already losing), and deny the enemy laner experience and gold. This, however, has another effect. If the enemy laner is low HP and the tower is being pushed, they might stick around to try to defend the turret. Not only will they manage to not get much gold since you have 2 or 3 people (depending on the lane) beating on the tower, they also are very easy to pick off if the tower falls.

5. Win by morale. Morale is by far the most important thing a team needs to win a game. Completely dominating a lane will often cause the enemy team's teammates to be either angry at the feeder or simply discouraged because of the skill disparity. If you can manage to get a lot of tower damage early on, the enemy laner has much more pressure put on their lane. This puts stress on the enemy, causing them to make more mistakes. If the team is not organized, this has the ability to completely destroy a team from the inside, including ones that are much more skilled overall than yours. It's particularly useful against compositions that are incredibly weak early on, but unstoppable when it comes to late game.

6. Take breaks. If you get stomped twice in a row, chances are it's time to take a break. You are much more likely to lose more games after you get stomped 2-3 tmes.

Your attitude is in the correct spot. ^5

Carry, Carry, Carry, Carry. You say you aren't doing well. I'd say try something different. For example a tank. Lee is currently available and he could play as both a tank and a DPS tier champ. That will be for you to choose while playing and judging on what your team needs (tanks are kinda rare as well).

Try to quickly act, don't hesitate to do something. Try to calculate (without that costing you time) whether you can take that Ryze with less than half HP left. Always have map awareness. It doesn't matter if you don't have wards (which are extremely valuable), try to at least know where the other champions are or when they dissapeared. I've died many times because suddenly 2 champs fell on me....or saved that squishy and got 1-2 kills.

If you aren't doing really well you can ask for a gank or maybe a lane change. That can give you a small break and maybe even change your luck.

You might wanna try playing versus some bots (they have a supernatural response time some times. You can by stunned by annie while closing the gap with a flash before managing to even use a skill. You can suddenly be attacked by 3 enemies coming at you in different ways (ie teleport and bushes). Try having a high W/L ratio. You can generally manage to win the game by yourself, even at worse situations. If you can't easily win games then winning normal games with opponents who are far stronger will be hard.

Don't forget to also play normal games. Getting used to the reactions of the bots and forgetting how real players play can be fatal in the future.

PS. You might wanna consider starting a new character for a bit. Don't know how much that will help you. At first you will be pub-storming everyone due to the difference in skill, but soon you will be with players of your league.

I say, if you have good teamwork then you can achieve victory,

You can have GOD tier players on one team against a bad tier team

but if the bad tier team has better teamwork then the god tier players, imo the bad team will achieve victorious! :P

the game is team based.....and in normals well...if you lose and you're doing good, don't worry about it

you can't win by yourself, sometimes I take the lead for my team and tell them what to do if they are not so good

I found myself winning because we communicated :D
