Seriously in all my years of playing S4 my god this has bugged me for so long. I've been playing since open beta August 2009 and I'm 12 now so you can believe i have some things to say. This has pissed me off to the point of no return. I mean I've put up with the evolution of the s4 league some were good and some were bad.

• New Maps and Guns
  
• The Dark Lightning and Iron Seasons

But the evolution of the community has to be by far the worst I mean seriously. So many people bitch about alot of things now like you cant do that and weapons restricted and what not; in my time we the only time we restricted was for swords only matches.But I can understand the annoyance of SOME weapons. But I put up with that it's this whole ramp and bridge bullcrap that puts me over the edge so I'm hoping for comments and answers from the old timers like myself and the new community. Why is ramping and bridge bad. Becuase you can easily break the bridge. You can easily defend ramp since your on higher ground. I mean i can do the jumps but there are some opportunities that im not gonna leave wide open like that only to lose a TD and waste my sp in the process running to the stairs. So really Fellow Old-Timers(Veterans) and Newcomers WTH is the problem with ramps and bridges.

Also, not to be rude or anything but I've noticed the skill level of many s4 players drop including mine. I'm just putting it out there

I hate St-2! D:< But when I play I see nothing wrong with using ramp and the bridge. They're two more possible routes to take to the goal. I agree that ramp is pretty easy to defend, and if your team doesn't know how to keep their side of the bridge destroyed when needed, then that's just... sad.

I'm not a veteran, but in my experience, I see a general trend of declining skill---perhaps because of everyone running FPs and not expecting naked/PEN to be able to kill? Actually, I don't know because the guy I killed wasn't wearing AP either. But it's getting ridiculous! Last night, I point-blank rev crit some guy after his PS dash delay in the train; after he dies he accuses me of "OHKO hack." LOL 4rals!? Honestly, not sure if serious. =A=;;

Once I was on the rookie server with a friend who I got to start the game that day and we were playing Station 2 and my team was winning 8-0 (this is the only time I can carry a team) with me having scored 8 goals via the ramp ('cause I can't jump). But this other guy would not stop trying to chew me out over how "ramp is for newbs" and I should not ramp.

Who goes on the rookie server to call people noobs? and if he's so pro, why is he on the rookie server? losing to someone ramping like a boss?

Anyway, anyone who thinks bridge or ramp isn't okay is probably just easily impressed by jumps and wants everyone else be impressed by their jumps too. I really hate phrases like "circle jerk" but.. I can't think of any better way of putting it.

And community's fine. Just people's optimism about the game is gone and attitudes will reflect that. It's easy to have contempt for the game and those who play it. Sadly, too easy and sometimes I even find myself thinking things like "circle jerk" just 'cause people like jumping (and are better at it than me).

Well obviously people always complain about things they cannot handle, so the amount of complaints about unreasonable stuff kind of reflecs the changes that have appeared within the general community , saying they basically got worse in terms of average "skill".

There's noting wrong in ramping or bridge. They're a just alternate ways to getting a TD. If not, they won't be there in the first place.

let me start by sayin that i hate st2. if a map is gonna be overplayed, at least let us play it the way it was built, right? i dont like playin st2 cuz i feel like i have to mold into the way my opponent (or occasionally bitchy teammate) wants me to be. That mold being, no ramp, no bridge, NO ANCHOR, and most importantly, stair hero 24/7. I completely agree with gamer in that they're just fine for gameplay and i wanna see ramp and bridge used more. and about the community, it has gotten a little worse but only cuz it seems more populated. alot of arguers and people who get provoked by them. but hey, i dont play for them, i play cuz its fun to shoot them! :P

This reminds me of how people complain about PS stun in a PS only battle or CS users complaining about TB users. People nowadays rage about things they cannot handle, rather then TRYING to handle it. They just need to show their S4, for crying out loud. It's as simple as focusing and using all they got.

On-Topic- Yeah i'll admit, I'm one of those Open beta people too, and at least on OB, when every1 only had aim to rely on, they complained...then killed the guy using (insert retardedly-OP weapon here-.....Damn, i just did it didnt I? But still its just...)

ANYWAY. Complaining doesnt get us anywhere apparently, so you just get used to it after awhile. I mean, we complained in Patch 10, and look where we are now: AP+258...(DAMNIT.) <_< <_< <_< Since complaining doesn't get anywhere now...why do it?

I'm the polar opposite of this. If people cant defend ramp or bridge then that's your own fault, not ours. Same goes for stairs and anchor, i admit anchor is for people who cant do stairs but really you are given 1.5s of being a sitting duck. IF YOU CANT SHOOT A FUCKING SITTING DUCK THEN YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BITCH ABOUT ANCHOR, IN WHICH THEREFORE YOU CANT AIM WORTH A FLYING FUCK.

But i hate people who stair on my team, because out of the 40 times they do it, 10 of them make it to the top and only 3 of them make it in the goal. So i take point with the ramp and protect the ball carrier on the ramp, yes they have the high ground but you can still be shot and if the team is smart there will be someone behind you invading.


Ramp in my eyes is harder to defend because if you have someone behind you its going to force you to either go for the ball carrier or the invader and the less people you have defending the harder it is getting the ball away from the goal

Bridge is a soft anchor since it goes from one goal to the next covering more distance
