Hello everyone, Reiki here

http://i53.tinypic.com/15o9ztc.png

This week, our weekly exercise is to try out the HMG. Remember, post your responses below on what you think should change about the weapon or if it does not need a change at all. Please give the weapon a whirl BEFORE you make your responses so you have a recent educated view of how the weapon works, when you've used it, and how its helped your gameplay. Thanks again and see you guys on the field!

Agreed with everyone here, it's already a good and balanced weapon
Ridiculous damage but you move extremely slowly and it's hard to aim, which means that your skill and your other 2 weapons must be built around the HMG

Good HMG users, and any HMG users in general actually, are rare.
I wonder why that is?
I'm sure part of it is because of the skill necessary and map awareness necessary when using the weapon but that can't be all there is to it
Maybe because other guns get the job done and don't force you to move slowly, sustain fire, or become one huge walking target

I'm not sure what can be changed to make the weapon more viable

HMG is da bomb, you just need to have good map awareness since everyone runs so fast and can get to the TD goal as fast as you can rev up

HMG... not much to say about it. Big gun, lots of damage, but spread goes everywhere and without wings, is the slowest thing besides the moving turret.

Main use of the weapon is crowd control. HMG can drop anybody within 2-6 shots, depending on crits. However, it becomes the main target of fire in defensive lines because of that. It is recommended to take a skill that cancel firing and delay, like shield, anchor, or invisible, or a skill that increases mobility with it, like wings or anchor. Wings is arguably the best skill to go with it to keep mobility and better vision, but shield helps a lot when supporting team rushes. If someone is planning to use this weapon, their gonna be mostly on defense for maximum efficiency.

As far as balance goes, HMG is as balance as it can get. Solid defense/support weapon.

Don't think it really needs a change, but. I don't think anyone saw him alot, but there was this guy named DiVa cainwhore. He worked the hmg so well. I'm not sure if he was hacking or not, but when he used the hmg, he could make it shoot in a straight line. Well, not a STRAIGHT line, but more or less. So basically, he'd be sniping non-stop on hyperium and station-2 with it. I don't think he was hacking, so I thought it was just amazing and cool.

Sort of off topic, sorry.

I don't think I've seen anyone work an HMG as effectively as Adora and Caution in a long, long time. I can fake it maybe 50% of the time, but honestly, I just pass out on the keyboard and roll my face around on it.

Awesome and balanced weapon.

Whenever I use HMG I'm literally just jerking my mouse back and forth in every direction and praying I'll hit someone lol
I'm so bad at it, but it's really fun to use

Its a high risk high reward weapon due to its rev up time and the power when 2 crits can drop someone.

And the reason why its rare to see HMG users around is more the skill then map awareness, no one wants to learn a 20-bullet spread like it or how to try and out move a air-hug, fadestepper or a wing dasher and ANY Melee user. You need to think 2 seconds faster then your opponent in order to kill them.

I havent figured out what to change but then again if anything changes it will be OP or make it useless

hmg is a realy ballanced weapon. The slow speed is supported by Heavy damage, Get some wings and you get faster.

God Old, Hmg+Sent+Cs- Wings. That set used to clean a whole map :b

"A team with a good hmg'er s always hard to deal." Said luna

Hmm the problem this days is everyone so involved in fast passed gamming, running with fumbi, no one cares about cleaning a base with hmg, or defending with a fat hmg when u can do the same with smash and smgs. The Only problem a hmg can give is Back Raping ( who hasnt qqed about a back stabbing SPRAYING HMG) D:, Goal Suport.

On the modern s4 league theres only place for anchorers, spraying smgs and smashes :b Ohhh and semi sniping.

You don't even see snipers in this days ! so why bother with an hmg :b

I would have to include Invisibility as equally as useful with the other skills you mention. There's nothing better then to give a HMG a surprise attack or even cover the initial rev up time for it to blast it's enemies into smithereens. While shield or wings prove to be better in certain situations, a good HMGer will always map out it surroundings including the oncoming enemy. So by then, the HMGer should already have find a way to stay safe or already mow down it's opponent which in my opinion, undervalues the two skills. Cripes, going off topic.

HMG is absolutely fine as it is. If anything I would like it to have a more accurate crosshair to represent it's spread. That little small plus sign doesn't do it justice for it's wide spread.

It's interesting that you would mention Invisibility
Back when I first started my friend would use HMG with Block to achieve some pretty hilarious results

I honestly think Block hasn't even scratched the surface of its potential
Whenever I see someone using it I always start to feel sad because of how rigid and uninspired the location that they place is

Reiki I'd love to do these exercises for skills too

I'll consider skills next time. Skills are a little more difficult because they don't have a definitive effect on gameplay as much as weapons do. You live or die because of your weapon choices. Whereas, skills can potentially be broken without doing anything at all (Metallic/Hp Mastery) because of passive AP bonuses.

Anyway, going to give HMG a go today. Maybe in conjunction with Mindshock ;-)
