something about razer's faulty engineering or something with deathadders. oh well, it lasted me a good two years. anyway, can someone shoot me recommendations for a new one? as long as it's not too over the top in price i think i can manage.

things i already have in mind:

logitech mx518
microsoft sidewinder
logitech G500
razer deathadder (again)

my favorite was the g500 and GODDAMN I LOVED THAT MOUSE. it was very comfortable for me and i think my aim was the best it's been back when i used it. i got rid of it because it'd randomly shit out on me during matches like once a day and i'd have to replug it in then wait a few minutes before it'd work again. it was probably just my copy of the mouse though, because i never heard of anyone else with the same issue. only real conflict i can see with the mouse is that it may be too small for you; my hands are hella small and it fit me fine, but my deathadder is more than an inch too long at the top.

i also used the mx518 for awhile but it was essentially just like a downgraded g500 for me. it's longer than the g500, but i felt the grip on it was a bit worse. i do recommend logitech mouses though since the software gives you complete control over sensitivity by utilizing 50dpi intervals instead of the deathadder's four default settings.

i was actually considering the mx518 and the g500 the most; thanks for bringing up the whole size issue with the g500 though, since my hand fit the deathadder more or less perfectly. i guess i could consider a g9x since it's a lot more customizable and has identical features and specifications.

thanks for the help, but if you guys have anything else you'd like to recommend please feel free :)

I've used a logitech G5 since it released and I still have the same one. I really stand by it, it's very similar to the mx518 except you can customize the weight with a weight tray on the G5. Both are very old but both really reliable I definitely suggest those two as a cheap solution that will last.

Edit: there are probably way better mice than the G5, I haven't been following their new products but logitech mice have always been a safe bet. Just make sure you don't get a wireless mouse if you plan on playing shooting games or any game that requires you to be very precise for that matter.

actually, after rereading some and seeing an actual size comparison the G500 isn't much smaller than the deathadder. maybe it's the usable surface area that's different, but either way a G9X is out of the question for me since i palm my mouse more or less.

@cautioN: how is the tracking on the G5? i know it's a previous-model G500 but since i don't even play past 1800 DPI i'm not sure i'll need the G500's 5700 DPI. if you've used any other mouse like maybe a deathadder (only one i can really compare to lol) and can recall how accurate/fast it is compared to a G5 that would be really helpful :)

(G500 has 3x faster acceleration than a G5)

(09:03:01) <+_Ben> fdas,fdan,fasd
(09:03:03) <+_Ben> faljejwak
(09:03:03) <+_Ben> GAH
(09:03:15) <+_Ben> i didn't think i'd ever say this
(09:03:24) <+_Ben> but why is amazon so fast with their shipping
(09:03:37) <+_Ben> it's automatically set to one-day shipping
(09:03:42) <+_Ben> and i realized i didn't deselect
(09:03:48) <+_Ben> so literally 30 seconds later i go back and try to change to standard
(09:03:54) <+_Ben> and amazon goes NOPE ALREADY SHIPPING
(09:03:55) <+_Ben> me: what

at least i had a gift card.

My mouse was an $8 mouse that I bought to replace my $12 mouse. It's pretty sweet. It like.. allows a mouse to move on a screen!

microsoft sidewinder

I have the Microsoft Sidewinder X5, works pretty damn good, but it's kinda hard for you to get used to it if you're used to small mice, since this one is pretty god damn huge (at least compared to my old one, which was half the size).

And it's also relatively cheap, I bought it for around 30€, it should be cheaper now.
