Alright so basically I used rev as my main weapon for a while. I'm a striker and TD is the only mode I really enjoy, so the same would go for clan wars. In clan wars though I found the rev just wasn't cutting it. I'm trying to figure out a decent set for clanwars or whatever as long as it involves a handgun because I sort of rely on that speed. I'm pretty much up to getting familiar with any set so ??/hg/??/any skill format would be nice.

Those sets are pretty much what most rev users run in clan wars. Some throw a melee in there, but its completely up to personal preference.

Well, I'm not entirely against ditching my rev if it would benefit but more or less I want to be effective firstly, using weps I like isn't really a top priority anymore.

whatever weapons you're good at. you can pretty much combine every commonly used weapon however you want into a set.

rev/smash/hg
rev/smg/hg
smash/semi/hg
smash/smg/hg

etc.

Well you should use weapons you enjoy, just don't use a weapon/set for the sake of being effective. Usually clan sets revolve around 4 weapons, Smash, Revolver, SMGs, and Semi Rifle. So I'd say build your set around these weapons. If you like revolver but aren't getting the results you want out of clan wars, then maybe your revolver aim isn't up to par. Or it could be the way you use your revolver. Most clans will be running in groups so just running up and shooting your rev at them won't work very well. You should be relying on your other weapon, whether it be SMGs ,a Smash Rifle ,or a Semi, to do most of your damage and killing, while you save your revolver for the runners.

Try to get a +2 ammo chip for the rev.

Makes quite the difference when you're using it as your main weapon.

And as they said, just add weapon you're comfortable with. I used to run hg/smgs/rev as a "srs" set, but since smgs and rev overlap a bit too much for my tastes I grabbed semi instead, and it really worked for me once I got used to it.

Mind you, if you're used to shooting only rev, it might be a bit hard for you to incorporate a weapon with different shooting mode at first(well, at least it was hard for me, I could run burst OR spray weapons more or less ok, but when I tried using them both in one set it took me a while to adjust. But I'm a baddie, so there's that.)

If your using a rev i highly recommend either a spy dagger or a plasma sword incorporated with what ever your 3rd weapon will be. The spy dagger will give you the same benefit as the hg with the ability to fight up close and the ps can stun enemies making it easy to kill them in one shot with the revo.

rev and spy dagger don't work well together in a set, at least for me; they serve similar purposes when attacking, as in they both engage, disorient, and deal massive damage up close. depending on how you use PS it could be the same thing. if anything CS is the best melee complement to a revolver since it is (hopefully) only used to take out mobs of people and/or knock people back, plus it's the easiest OH SHIT I NEED TO KILL THAT GUY weapon to use when someone is hero running stairs.
