Hello S4 Leaguers! Are you having a great December? Don't forget to dress warm and break out that hot chocolate, get nice and comfortable, and cram for those final exams. It's definitely winter time here at S4 League! On top of that, we're quickly approaching the 3rd birthday of S4 League's full release. We'll be sure to cover anything that happens then.

For now, we've got plenty of hot stuff to see so don't go away!

Defend, Defend, Defend!!!
You're waiting to pounce on the enemy. But what's this, you have a royal crown on your head and you're only left with 30HP left. Things don't seem too good...Suddenly you catch a glimpse of your teammate right beside you. The next thing you, you win the game. I'm pretty sure some of you are clueless as to what I just wrote, but not to worry. There's a new battle mode in town, and it's called Captain Mode!

The Chaser that stole Christmas

Captain Mode, in essence, brings Chaser and Touch Down together into one powerhouse of a mode. In Captain Mode, every player becomes the captain! It's not clear at this time as to whether the Captain gains attack and defense boosts, however the Captain does receive a whopping 500HP, and that's a huge boost!! NOTE: Players will receive more HP if there is an imbalance in the teams. Players will be boosted with an extra 100HP per missing team member!

People are revived as normal players after being defeated, but you gain a lot for beating the captain of the opposing team, plus only normal players can tell where enemy captains are hiding with little red crown indicators (similar to Chaser targets; but smaller.) You can tell who the remaining captains for your team are, and how much HP they have remaining right below the Map. The objective of the game is to annihilate the opponent's captain. Defeating all captains ends the round (similar to Touch Down - after someone scores) and the next round begins. The team with the most points or the first to hit the cut-off (Like the 10 point games in touchdown or the 80 points in TDM) wins.

New mode means New map! Welcome to Old Moon!

Just in time for the holidays the new Captain Mode comes with a crazy new map called "Old Moon". This place is a mansion that has an inside and outside battleground. It's said to be a production warehouse that was abandoned for quite some time. If you stare outside the windows, you can even see the snow falling! The size cannot be determined at this time, but it's safe to assume they're as large or larger than most TDM or Battle Royale maps.

DJ Santa's been busy half past the asteroid belt

Coining the "Santa's Workshop" feel, this winter home away from home has plenty of elevating stages and corners to hide behind and
surprise the enemy. It definitely has plenty of corners so an unsuspecting captain might experience the same pain a Chaser must feel. Don't get lost, ladies and gents!

New Messaging system

I'm pretty sure that you've had encountered a time in S4 when you needed to tell someone something really important, but the person was offline. Well, S4 League has incorporated it's very own mailing system. Players can now send messages to players who are both online and offline. There will be a "mail" button next to the "help" button at the top of the screen. You can compose new messages, or even read messages you've received from others. Quite a nifty invention, if I do say myself.

Take a step back for a second and realize this. You no longer have to be online to keep communication so it makes it easier to also report hackers to GMs, makes it simple to set-up matches while in-game, give notices to members in your club about an upcoming match, the possibilities are just too big to name in one article!

Two new Winter sets
You can't have a snow-filled map without some clothes to suit the occasion now can you?

Introducing the "Winter Bear Set" and the "Sweet Bear Set," for males and females, respectively. These clothes can be found as capsules in the Premium Shop. They look so warm and fuzzy, however I get this feeling the girls will be very, very cold. Along with the new clothes, four more sets will be added to the shop as well. The sets are as follows: Floral Set, Sporty Armor Set, Activities Set and the Champ Set.

There's a small correction to be announced. From our humble translators, it seems as though EVERYONE becomes a Captain at the beginning of the round. Once a captain dies, he/she will return as a normal player. Killing every captain will give your team 1 point, and the next round will commence thereafter.


We will let you know of any changes once the patch has been implemented. Until then, see you next time~
