Hello everyone, Reiki here

This is the patch discussion thread. As you know, we're trying to get things organized and put full use of the forum into effect. This is why we have forum discussions in different sections.

Anyway, this will be the place to discuss the patch concerning: The new Spy Dagger design and moveset, the kick function, and the halloween event

Please keep your comments civil.

I don't really like the part about the tax for kicking someone.
Let's say a room with ten persons and a guy hacks for him getting kicked they need 80% of the votes to be yes 80% is eight people and that is 2400.
Many peoples economy isn't that well so they can kick persons in every 2:nd game and when this comes to WES4 with all the hackers there will surely be complaints.
Maybe i am wierd thinking of this :/

2400 pen paid total.
Each individual only pays 300.

I'm for it.
It prevents abuse. (To a reasonable extent, anyway)

Also, how does the move speed of the dagger compare with the handgun/other melee weapons?

Updated it. After testing, it does 30 damage per normal hit, can't crit, but does 31 from the back and side.

Special attack does 22 per hit.

Movement speed does not change while attacking.

Kick tax means I'm not going to kick anyone if it comes over here - I'm constantly on the verge of being penlocked already anyway.

Mostly due to spending all my money on I-caps, but still.

Is the Korean pen economy different that ours? I seem to remember that, but I don't recall the details.

As i said before, I'm really looking forward to the dagger now - both the walking animation and swirling it in the air after attacking look nice, and it looks useful enough.

Another update has been made.

I'll relink the article to the front page just in case. Basically, while attacking with normal hits, you walk slightly slower than you would normally, but still much faster than other weapons.

EDIT: Added in more info on the special attack. Does 4 hits. First hit does 22, but the LAST hit does 75. It increases gradually per hit.

Do kicked players gain exp and pen for what time they spent playing?

I wonder, can kicked players just re-enter the room right after being kicked? If they can then this just has no point to it. Hackers hack because they like to ruin other people's fun. If you kick them with this system, they will just re-enter just to make you waste your pen kicking them again cause they will think it's funny.
I sincerely hope there is a time limit before they can enter that room again.

Behold: the new type of player: PEN trollers! All they do is hack and/or be extremely annoying (while including all the annoying factors SUCH AS: bringing Counterswords into "No CS!!11oneone" rooms, lagging like a BR in a BR, and much, much more! Why? Because he or she knows that you WILL spend 300 PEN into getting that person out of the room.

Something I've just wondered as well. It's be a horrible trololol if they weren't restricted for at lease the duration of the match. There would really be no point in kicking, then. I think 300 pen is a little much, especially given the HUGE numbers of hackers currently on S4. If I'm gonna encounter 6 hackers in a row in addition to people who break room rules, I think I just wanna save my pen instead. That money coulda went to repair mah weaps or fumbi, or something.

Misa also brings up a good point about the possibility of pen-trollers. Perhaps people should get a semiban if they are kicked x number of times within a certain period? I dunno.

Also, the spy dagger looks...very un-spyly. LOL I think the old design looked better, actually.

I don't really get why people are saying it's a terrible system. If you read the previous article we had when we first introduced the kick function (Article name: Here comes the Battle Royale!), we stated that people cannot come back to that room after they have been kicked like that in that fashion.

The new moveset for the Spy Dagger looks nice, looks like Penta is trying to make it a legit weapon that requires skills instead of the traditional spam.
Kick system will get abused the nanosecond it comes out here, and by non-Koreans in KRS4 that think they are trolls.

MontYrus' Portuguese is sufering from serious amounts of grammar rape. BR's, go figure

You realize that he is courteous enough to take time out of his day to translate articles for "BRs" like yourself and you have the audacity to trashtalk his job publicly, not to mention your English is pretty piss poor yourself but I don't believe people insult you for it. And you wonder why you're not a part of the staff..

hacker 1 gets kicked
hacker 1 uses diff accnt
hacker 1 gets kicked again
hacker 1 uses diff accnt again
hacker gets kicked again
^Just an example of a hack-troller method

Imo, v2k has too many loopholes, and spending 300 is already the amount of repairs for all the PEN i gained in the match
Losing too much PEN with the costs in kicking 1 person, but won't stop "random alt accounts" from being trolls

I highly doubt that anyone would go to such lengths as to log off, log back in, try to get into a room that`s probably full right now, enter when there`s room, troll, get kicked again, and then repeat the process. You`re either (1) very very prudent about pissing someone off, or (2) you have no life.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if someone created a hack that would bypass voting (similar to GunZ, or any MMO for that matter).
