Agreed, I think we should talk to the SO Forums about migrating to Free 4

Maybe its just Me but I think the overall frustration abour (FP,Lagg,Crashing servers,Inbalance, economy, etc etc) Just seeps into S5 venting a lil and blowing the other guy up, Most of S5 cares about S4 want it to change for the better and from the looks of it its just going to get worse..

There a more than enough guides that are well tought out, rangeing from beginner to expert knowloadge and that is a great thing no doubt about that. there are a lot of topics spending from nonsense to great things that are fun or either just very intresting to read. The forum works great. Much better than anything else out there in the field organized, fun most of the positive things and smart things.

There have been a lot of great ideas comeing from here To Improve S4, most of wich are not overly complicated to implement and balance out the game more and suffice to say they have kinda bare none been ignored and implemented. I guess we know that stuff isn't gonna change for the better and we kinda lost hope of it ever happeing and thats leads to the E drama wich is a indirect correlation of it.

Its kinda felt like we could make a change, Like a Obama speach of change. Things did change its just feels like not nearly enough for Me and thats frustrates Me for sure at times S5 is not the problem the people here are insignifcatly the problem the things that are jsut common for all games Alaplaya gets to us all....
Sometimes I just feel its just like waiting till the next AP item rolls out thats is even Stronger than the Current FP or AP++ and the whole circle starts again.....

This thread got my attention, and I mean that in a good way.

Generally we've been talking about how to fix up our community on the basis of a few issues: trolling, use of language, bashing - those kinds of negatives from what I see.

I too agree that compared to the alaplaya forums, this forum is heaven. Sure there are a few people who randomly go around dissing others when they have a bad day, but hey, at least they ain't spamming the forum to kingdom come.

The main thing is that a lot of S5 people are good (and I mean it) good at the game, they have their standards. And when a person considers him/herself an old timer at something, he/she will often think that his/her standard is pretty much set in iron. A lot of the sword only hate also comes from here, since S4 is a shooter game after all. Another small reason why the SO hate became so rabid is from a small clash on alaplaya forums, according to some random 'egoing' clan named Seikaku which (now) admits it was all a joke and then here comes the shitstorm. Standards clashed, and heave ho, here comes the tsunami. By the way, if you remember, there was a certain person who made the famous statement 'I'll cut your bullets in half with my PS' and wow...did that cause a lot of hate.

Anyway, I digress - the only thing I can suggest is that people think before they post. AND think while they post. Same goes with ingame behavior. There's nothing really wrong going about jokingly and playfully, but one man's joke can become something bad to another person...I've seen too much drama go around with language, enough to not want to see more.

TL;DR, here's my sum up. There are 5 things people should keep in mind, or have been discussed in this thread.

1. Think before you post. Or at least make sure the post won't really offend, unless whoever the target of the post is seriously deserving it. At least, trying to keep it civil is good, I guess.

2. About the Quoting, as long as theres not +10 same quotes with nothing typed along or changed, I see no problem. Also constructive quotes are to be wanted...

3. Bashing and new people - the new people also have to put it in their minds that a lot of S5 has been here for quite some time, and won't really go well with some new person coming around throwing their nose into everywhere and egoing it up like some bawss. But the old timers should also have some patience, I guess.

4. Sword only hate: S5 sword only hate is far less than on alaplaya forums, but theres some of it still. I myself am pretty neutral, since SO is a good way to blow off steam with some CS, while guns are more competitive since you can receive more damage generally with more weapons and range. The hate, however, is generated by both sides thinking 'SO/Guns are better, and no I am not listening to you', mostly. And what really irks me is that both sides hate each other for generally not much reason at all apart from that, another problem based off on standards and such. To tell the truth, I wish people would just shut the hell up and play the game when it comes to this. good thing we don't have a lot of SO vs Guns drama here.

5. Pointless spamming of suggestions and etc. Some people do this, I think you know who I'm talking about. Not that suggestions are bad, but as in #1, think before you post and if the suggestion is REALLY good, then it should be put up. Also, why make bizillion suggestion threads when you can just make a group thread of your suggestions in one thread?

-that pretty much ends it for now.
Also I have an ego the size of a peanut, eat it for me pl0x.

Lets see less ego :V

Err...not much to say for me. But i kinda agreed in much here. I'll only say this...

If you got a personal problem or stalking a user, get reported if you do not let the person be alone. Want to solve the proble, but can't? Then sad for you, there's a reason the person don't want anything with you to do, don't go around and stalk and troll the person. Aeromasi is keep going around and stalking me, like yesterday. That kid is nothing, but trouble. I just want to play some Chaser and be left alone, and keep my account alive until late April, thats all.

I'd like if someone could deal with people that talks about something ENTIRELY different then the thread says, and get reported or even banned for it. Penalization for trying to talk about personal problems in a thread is unneccessary. If they can't deal with it, bad for them.

Altough, well. Spamming would i really love to have a huge penalization, i'd mean a lot, and trolling too. The more of strict Offensive or Bickering penilazations are pretty nifty to keep some users at a benchmark.

About the "Sword Hatery". I don't mind that, i use Swords myself a lot, if you rage about it, don't waste your breath. I get frustrated myself, but i don't go all around about it.

Alike more likely, i highly really and pretty agreed with SD over me. I like the way he/she states the factuals there. I really give you a +1 for that.

If you see people abusing or harshly humiliating another member, please report that post or that person. There's a report button, and we do check those reports. It's all anonymous so don't be afraid of retribution, anyone can help us keep S5 clean and friendly.

A stray comment caught my attention and it made me very unhappy to see. Someone, who will not be named, stated that our community is terrible. Not S4 Source, but S5. I am curious to see what people think. Is our community horrible and what makes it so?

I may be very busy nowadays, but S4 Source is my home and personal project. I do not want to see it fail; hence why your continued to support and feedback is necessary. Please let me know if you also feel our community is horrible, why or why not, and what can be improved.

I may not be very accurate on this because i play on the Super Rookie channel, but I can surely say that there is nothing wrong with the community IMO.

Yeah, if you play in Super Rookie channel, its a bit tame, once you hit free 2 on eu servers you're gunna start knowing why sometimes people complain about other players (although overall the community is actually REALLY good for a free to play game, let alone an online video game). There's a lot of inflated ego players and generally people with little to no care about their team (why play S4 when you wanna play by yourself?) and then they'll start whining about some baseless thing when they're 2nd to lowest score; like "team where's my defense" when they're in front of the goal.

But for the forums, I really haven't seen much negative stuff compared to other forums I've been on, it's fairly good for the most part (maybe I'm just not reading all the threads that have the bad stuff?) I know there's the "this event sucks" thing but it really isn't anything bad compared to other forums.

S5 would be bad ass if it let you create a spot for your clan to talk on instead of making a separate forums o. o

If the sarcasm of everyone was toned down. Also, people posting a pic of them doing a good job in a match should'nt be considered a ego post, that shit needs to be knocked off.

I want to post my own experience with S5.
I feel as if our community as a whole is not very welcoming?

I remember when I first made my account here I barely posted because I didn't know what to post.
If I were to give an example it would be as if I were a new nerdy kid in school, plopped in the middle of a group of jocks.
Everyone knows each other already and jokes around with each other and it feels like a very exclusive group of friends rather than a forum for the community.
The same thing occurred over at a forum called MabinogiPlayer, and after we were shut down for a few months by repeated DDoSs, the site more or less died.

I think I've only made one real friend from this forum, SadBridget(NaotaSoulrunnaz), and the rest I've either occasionally seen or have never seen at all.
Suggestions to improve this feeling of exclusivity would be more forum-events, such as when Reiki posted his "Let's Play Together" threads, or that one time we all actually got a few decent games in the Pro server.

Part of me thinks this problem is exclusive to myself though, because I'm kind of overly-sensitive. My friend, Ocean., had no problem meshing with this community I think.
