Too lazy to reformulate all my ideas, so copy and pasting the ideas I had posted into a chat as I neared and finally reached the conclusion of this thoroughly engrossing book, despite my initial misgivings about it, being not a particular fan of historical fiction.

Scyth: Hrm... Alias Grace would make a good anime series, strangely enough.

...

Scyth: I'm quite enthralled by this book, and not being one for historical fiction in particular, am quite surprised how much I enjoy it.

...

Scyth: Hrm, upon completion of my book, I stand by my previous remarks. Although the ending was a bit wanting and lackluster, I suppose this is more the fault at its attempt at historical fiction, rather than on the part of the author's inability to form a more
Scyth: exciting and intriguing ending.
Scyth: And therefore, do not hold much fault against it, especially being a clean, definde ending, which I do so thoroughly enjoy.
Scyth: *defined
Person: See, I kinda like less closure, more conjecture
Scyth: I do enjoy a little conjecture, but usually I like closure. However, the book itself is one entirely untrustable account of a tale, leaving the entire plot to much the read'ers opinion.
Scyth: In fact, the ending was pretty much the only thing truley accountable.
Scyth: On another subject, the form of writing was quite adept at its ability to set the mood of the tale. The lack of quotations in favor of "Something said, character A said," really gave the narrative flavor.
