I would like to sincerely apologize for the lack of news and updates for the site. The team has been incredibly busy with real life situations; we haven't been showing S4 Source much love recently. But things are going to change, as we get back into business and things start to get better. You can expect to see future updates like no tomorrow. There will be quite a few changes in store for us in the upcoming month, but we'll just leave it at that for now.

NOTE: This will end up being a two part log. Everything seen below is just an update as to what's happening with S4 League as a whole. Nothing new had been implemented as of yet. We'll update the article (or create a new one) as we see fit - and we'll let you know.

With that in mind, let's kick things into high gear!!! Here we go players!!

Before we get into the new stuff, we've got some exciting news (I know, I keep prolonging the real update. But this is just as good!) S4 League has been getting some great attention on an international level, and developers want in on the action! If you haven't guessed by the header already, than you might need help :C. S4 League has been officially licensed in Japan! That's right, the competition just get fiercer! GameON (http://www.gameon.co...rvice/index.asp) is the company that has obtained the privilege of publishing S4 League. Apparently, GameON has become a subsidary company of Neowiz! Japan will now be able to get a shot at the game we all enjoy! If anything, we're expecting a CB during Q4 2012.

Hack 'n' Slash Blades - Season 3 Unveiled


The text in the video reads: As the black darkness lifted, the Netsphere began to shine

The latest S4 Season is upon us, and it brings us with some amazing new features. Season 3: Blade - an enticing battle is upon the Netsphere, and these kids have no idea what they're dealing with. However, that doesn't stop them from slicing each other into little bits. We're not sure if this is a new arc in the story; we have a sense of where Pentavision might go with this. I'm speculating that Season 1 & 2 were about the past battle, and that Season 3 is where the story actually begins. But don't be spreading rumors!! We'll just have to wait and see!

The video brings up some cool new concepts and some new weaponry as well. First off, the weapons. We'll be seeing not one, but TWO new melee weapons heading our way - the Katana and the Sigma Blade! Nothing has been stated about these weapons yet, the there's no need for an explanation. The video exploits these weapons perfectly.

For starters, the katana seems to be a seemingly slow weapon with moderate power, but don't let that fool you. It has some pretty fast combo attacks, and a very deadly jump attack (a triple(?) spinning attack)!! It seems that it has a huge knock back effect (it can even knock metallic players!!) as well. The Sigma Blade is very similar, however there is something very interesting about this sword. It appears that it can change it's appearance (I'm referring to the green glow super sayian mode thingy.) I wonder what enhancements it provides for the player...

We also get a chance to see a new map. We couldn't really tell, but we're thinking that there are gonna be three floors to the map: the roof, the balcony (I guess you could call it that?) and an interior (don't quote us on this one.) I'm gonna go ahead and call it Neden-4 for now :x

And that's pretty much it for now. The video was great, but it didn't really mention anything other than "swords swords and more swords." But that's just fine, because we'll get the juice info on the new updates once they come out!! So until then, you guys know what to do: "Get out there, and Show Me Your S4!!"

Subject: Patches and Upgrades, Part 2

Well, seems like the devs over at Pentavision have just released their latest patch notes. I don't think I should stall things any longer, so without further adieu, let's get things started!

Update to the story
The patch actually begins by giving us a short introduction the new season. This season, is in fact a new arc on it's own. It has nothing to do with Ophelia and Lillith (as of yet) and more to do with S4 League as how the Zerone Code has changed it. The text starts off by stating that the rumors grew about the Zerone Code in the Netsphere, and chaos began to brew in search of that power. The government closed the case, and things began to settle down, quietly.

Things did not end there. An unknown intruder began to extract sample patterns and data from the code; data that could create new weapons that could withstand immense power - Blades. These new weapons were engineered and went through rigorous testing phases, but nothing was stated to the public. These tests were to be kept secret, for the energy of these blades was unknown. Anything could happen! But information this important could never be kept contained. The public began to notice certain changes, and before the government knew it new rumors began to spread. Players were drawn to this fact, and the battle for the Blades began. The power to destroy the Netsphere had been unleashed, and there was nothing to stop it.

That's some pretty intense stuff in there. I'm beginning to like the plot around the S4 Seasons a lot better; it has that darkness vibe surrounding it. Even though the season is called Blades, I think we might have some powerful guns coming our way as well. We'll just have to wait and see!!

New sets and a brand new Kon pet!
We have a brand new set coming our way during the upcoming patch. The Boxing Set and The Rugby Boy Set for both woman and men, respectively. Both sets represent a stylish, new sports approach for the upcoming S4 League Championship Tournament, and boy has Pentavision nailed it! Both sets look amazing; I can't wait to try on the new female set!!

We have a new pet coming our way as well!! We'd like to introduce, Chicky Ryan! This cute little pet is actually a bear, wearing a lion mane!! We're not sure if this pet has two different versions, or if the pet's colours are affected by the player's actions. None the less, be sure to pick up this cute, cuddly bear if you have enough cash.

NOTE: Both items (the new set and the pet) are G-capsule items, with force pack abilities.

The Enchantment System
Before we dive deeper into the system, I'd just like to say that the pictures were really, really small so I couldn't translate most of the content. The team has a gist of what the Enhancement System, but we will provide you will all the updates as we get higher resolution pictures and testing.

For starters, the Enhancement System isn't relatively new to S4 League. We've had the eSper Chip enhancements for some time now, but this new system will incorporate that and much more! Referring to the picture above; we have the main menu. The two options available are "Chip Enhancement" and "Enchantment" (left and right, respectively). The Chip Enhancement section indicates you'll be able to add eSper chips using this new interface. The enchantment section will allow users enhancement their weapons, without the use of eSper chips. The patch note doesn't specify what TYPE of enhancements will be present (HP+, speed increase, etc, etc), but it does state that the more enhancements a user adds to an item, the more likely it is to fail.

Note: Both the Katana and Sigma Sword will be given to players as Beta Weapons (for testing - something Pentavision seems to do for all new weapons now.)
