After myself and zNeverDodge tested the affects of hair on damage(Tests were done using full premium gear with no shirts except i had +3 hair and he had +7, we both had +1 semi rifles) we discovered that hair affected shooting damage to the legs, chest, and head(crits) rather than just the head(crits). In every test (1 click, 4 bullets) I took more damage than him. Other players tested other weapons such as hand gun and found similar results.

My 1st question is if this was already known, and if so, please lock/delete this thread.

My 2nd question is what are your thoughts on this and what does it mean for competitive S4?

It was my believe up to this point that hair would only affect head defense as it states in the tooltip.

It doesn't affect competitive S4 as all the tournaments have some way of controlling the stats on their players hair.

Remember that the position of shots affect the damage as well. The same applies to the part of the body that you shoot. Obviously, shooting someone's foot does very little damage, compared to a shot in the head. Also, back shots do more damage, critical or not.

Considering s5 rules only permit pen stat hair, face, and accessory I dont think this knowledge will effect competition. But its still good to know. I always thought it effected only crit defense.
