I don't know if this was directed at me or not but it probably was and so I'll respond with that assumption.
These "old players vs new players" threads pop up all the time and it is literally just old players going "man those were the days we were so good, players these days are so bad"

These threads are not made for the purpose of actually trying to find out which generation is better (which is a stupid topic to begin with but).

With that said you put a lot of thought into your post and it provided good insight for me.

Are people STILL classifying players as "old" or "new"? I thought we already established that it was a VERY BAD way to compare players.

Clans

Clans on S4 work in a pretty funny, yet typical, way. Most clans are doomed to obsolescence the second they’re created. People create clans, envision big things, gather people to their cause, and become determined to leave their mark in the annals of S4 history. Then they slowly begin to decompose and fall under the weight of their own hopes and dreams, for a variety of reasons; they think it’s actually easy to become a top-tier clan without having good players, or they mistakenly think S4 is a clan-orientated game, or they do absolutely nothing to further theirimpossible goals and become surprised when nothing happens. Clans created simply to be great at the game are destined to crash. It’s arguable that all clans are destined to crash; certainly, the first clans from back in the day are almost all gone (if not all). Especially the prolific ones; the famous clans of today are the relics of tomorrow. What’s left of Diva (the first Diva, which was well known and respected)? FY? S2H? vE? SwS? Crayola? All there’s left are some characters with clan-tags, perhaps an empty/inactive ingame clan, and people saying “-insert current top clan- couldn’t compare with –insert an old top-tier clan-“. The great always fall, no matter how good they are. The most long-lasting clans are the clans that don’t participate in clanwars much. Those are also, arguably, the most fun ones, since obviously they’re going to be more orientated towards levity. Hell, most pro clans themselves are just composed of a bunch of friends and friends of friends. So there isn’t much point in making a thread on a forum stating your desire to join a really good clan, in my opinion. That just isn’t how it works on for the most part on EUS4. It's not competitive enough. You shouldn’t focus all your energies on finding a great clan. Focus on becoming better and on having fun, and eventually great clans will come to you.

Yes, actually I believe the thread has been derailed enough, I'm closing it.
