Apparently one of the most Polished MMO on launch ever...

From my cousin and plenty of user reviews:

The Story and PvE is great, you actually care about what you're doing...(it is made by bioware)

But the PvP is a bit lacking from what I've heard, it's also alot more tactical and team based...

What do you guys think? Worth trying? if you have tried it, how is it?

I'm up to enjoying something like this :D

Everyone in my vent channel 10+ people bought this game and we love it. Play it everyday!

Lvl 24 Pure Blood Warrior Tank lehsgo!

The story is SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!! No matter what class you play you will love and really start to care about your character/companions.
( And you forget your even leveling at all while your doing them)

Besides the fact that your choices effect how your story game play goes, anyone of your friends can join you on any mission and take part or listen to your storyline missions and help out. (Major fun) So with that said ALL quest are group quest and you never have to go it alone.
^ PVE

PVP: Holy shit like. It's fin and all but it's really out of sync. They have no brackets so people who bum rushed it to lvl 50 are the real game changes regardless of there attempts to " Make players even" by buffing our hp and damage a little bit. They really need to add brackets 1-10 -1-20 ( and so on) or even 1-5 5-10(preferable)

but overall the games AMAZING. Definitely gonna be playing it for awhile.

YEAH MAN XD

You ... you've got to be being sarcastic. The game has been out for 6 days and allready a crapton of game breaking bugs have been discovered.
Blunder of the Milenium, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Yeah I've been playing before official release and I've never encountered these "Game Breaking" bugs.

Most polished on release* or so I've heard.

Anyway, worth playing right now?

I'm 50-50, i actually mainly just wanna know if my computer can run it smoothly, I have it installed, just no account to log on and try with yet. So yeah, ANY recommendations? both Dying breed and my cousin = empire, so I might go Republic just because The empire has 450k people while republic has 410k people total...Then again I could join you guys.

Thinkin of going Juggarnaut/Guardian or Scoundrel/Operative (or Gunslinger/Sniper, depending on the gameplay or the need of whatever guild)

I'd ask if anyone would let me try and log on just to test my pc, but thats a trust thing and such

EDIT: Should I wait until they flattened out some of the bugs? a Free Trial? whatsupmang?

You.. You really need to stop being so critical. You probably haven't even played the game, so don't talk about 'game breaking bugs' when you don't even know what you're talking about. Especially that mount thing.. Yeah no. That isn't game breaking. It's just slightly annoying.

Anyway.. Yo. Level 37 Assassin atm on Sith Meditation Sphere. Got a level 12 of 3 other chars, sniper, merc and jug. Just love the Assassin so much.

Free trial won't be coming out any time soon. But it's so worth buying, I promise. The guy who's paying for me atm already has close to 7 days play time and is already level 50. It's that good. I'd be 50 if I wasn't so busy, to be honest. Just go get it.

Just got back from the SWTOR website
First off being Origin only isn't good.
The Physical Safety key thing is a rip-off but needed at this moment as preety much everybody who bought it can't redeem their key ("allready used", "unvalid"), their game doesn't come with a key (a hell of a lot of physical copies got shipped without keys) or they just don't get the game key after buying it trough Origin.
Origin itself is a complete deal breaker for me but the 15US$/13€/£9 monthly subscription cost (thath SlayeZ talked about) is WAAAAY to much.
Logisticly the game is a nightmare with server queues lasting up to an hour for what I've seen.

Content wise, for what I've heard, the game is preety good but is being poorly managed.
Think of it this way : It's like WeS4League. It's a very good game but is being managed by a money hungry company that doesn't care about it's costumers.
Like seriously, who the hell would let slip trough their fingers games being shipped without the keys? This is a completly unforgivable thing.

Not really.
Most games have infact been shipped without keys and most buyers are having troubles.

It's just the excessive, in my view, fees and Origin that are keeping me from playing this.
Same reason I cannot into MMO's like this and WoW.
WoW when it started out was preety awesome but I never started playing it because of the subscriptions. Now it's just basicly filled with poorly designed updates. I don't blame Blizzard tough, they just got to a point where it is incredibly hard to put in original content into it that isn't very similar to what allready is in the game. Plus the remaning community is a complete nerdfest filled with literally no-lifers.

Most subscriptions from popular MMOs go with the $15/month fee. Also, the community isn't filled with with no-lifers. Last time I played it, the community was booming with casual players, logging on for a couple hours just to do some questing. Although that was a few months ago, I doubt the community made a large shift within that period.

You're also comparing the company to alaplaya. You can't really compare a company hosting a F2P game to a company hosting a P2P game.

Lets not turn this into a flame war now:

Everyone has their own opinions, as such, you have to look at both sides:

From 90% of all the people who has PLAYED it, the story is very good, the pvp as of right now is bad (but can and will be patched)

The PvE aspect really shines and is truly polished for an MMO on Launch.

The PvP aspect however needs tweaking.

The selling point for me is my own adventure, truly, I'm not another face doing the same fetch quest as everyone else.

Not only is there 8 seperate stories for the 4 classes x 2 sides , but the choices within those stories branch it out to be something unique.

From what I've heard companions also do a great job of conveying a good story driven adventure.

Holo-something can be FOUND in hidden areas and out there places, and these holo-whatever give you stat boosts and other special features, encouraging you to go out there and explore and be Immersed in the world

Again, it just launched, so of course its gonna be buggy.

Moneywise:

The subscription is justifiable, and if the game is really that polished, imagine what a year will do it?

However, the whole greedy EA/Bioware thing is more or less up to whoever's perspective.

Bioware and EA did release alot of DLC for DA and DA2 so Fer might be correct on that, but you shouldn't compare it to an F2P or P2P model like Lag said. The high cost and even 60 bucks out the gate is because its A STAR WARS game, the brand license alone's worth really hits it up.

Even in the game, you are not allowed to name your character anything WITHIN the Star Wars Lore because it infringes LucasArt's Rights...

all in all, I havent played it, so I cant give anyone my 2 cents, only take in all opinions people have laid out.
