I is busy correge student, but drawing and movie editting is something of a passion, soo...

I want to do a mini online manga just for fun ,and whoever wants to help will be creditted (This could also be used for your portfolio if you're in the art/writing department!)


anyway...I'm not actually sure where to start, I have a basis for the main character and his powers, right now I just need a story and a setting and all that other important jazz...so heres the question(s):

1) What cool fighting styles/powers would you like to see being developed?

2)If you would like to help with story or art let me know! NO S4 STORIES, something new and original (?) Also some character design help would be welcomed!

3)Do you think I should even waste my time?

I tried making a mini manga a LONGGG time ago (4 years ago) when my art was pretty bad and such. Ill try to find it. anyway, the story and characters were generic, but it was a good experience!

I'm fine with help from anyone whos willing to help, so definantly! and as for fighting style and powers, its really hard to come up with a whole buncha new powers, so how about this, Using powers in interesting ways such as:

Having a martial artist being able to use electric powers, which would increase his/her senses (since your body is also filled with electrons and your nerves sends electrical messages to your brain) he/she can also use this in his fighting style where the user has a 1-2 type fighting style, wherein the first hit will do a significant amount of damage to an enemy, but theres no sense of feeling or impact due to the shock numbing the nerve and then the second hit is also a strong impact, but this time the new shock renews the enemie's senses meaning the feeling of 2 big hits at once...or something like that. Ohhh, and he can numb his own pains to keep on fighting even after he got bitchfucked by a strong opponent. hmmm...maybe even speed up the rate of muscle development using electricity? Just fun ways to use powers thats already fleshed out is cool too.


Ohh another one could be the ability to manipulate and create portals within a radius of yourself (with a startup time so that it wont be broken) Like...think portal but without the need for a wall! so that means you can deflect things and also technically rip a portal within the space of a living person, being used as an offensive tool.

Meaning this ability would be pretty powerful, so a startup time would be sufficient to keep it balanced, meaning it cant randomly rip people's heads off!


ANyway, feel free to let your imagination run wild!

Well I dont see myself helping in the art aspect. Since I'm sorta average still in that. However with stories and concepts, power and skills, parts of character design, I offer my help :)

If you'd please take some time to read through my arcade mode level summaries I think you might be somewhat interested
It is poorly written how it is at the moment but if you're planning on doing a manga I'd be honored to be a writer if you're willing to do an S4-inspired story (as I do not want to come up with a new concept, or rather the concepts I do have I am saving for myself :thumbsup:)

As said already, in its current state it is poorly written (largely due to the fact that I was writing it with arcade mode in mind) but I personally think the concept is decent enough and can be expanded and used in an interesting way

The virus and esper chips add opportunities for special moves as well, and since S4's focus is teamwork, team-attack scenes would be easily integrated (a la Tales of Symphonia unison attack style)

Overall I believe it will provide many opportunities for flashy battle scenes and stylistic drawings

Its more to do with the choreography of fights actually, in an age with guns and such, its a split second battle of who lands the first bullets.


With martial arts/melee weapons/etcetc the fight can be better choregraphed and shown in a more artistic way.

Take the recent GI Joe movie for example, whats the point of having 2 ninjas fight it out? because its good CHOREOGRAPHY. one could have just shot the other realistically.


Suffice to say, I would like one of the main characters to be a lightning fist faggot, only using a sword when fighting enemies abuses the element of RUBBER (nullifies lightning)

Anyway, drawing a gun fight and drawing a sword fight is in a different league on it's own, some does it really well, but every part of the story has to be kept in mind towards what is asthetically pleasing and what is possible for me as an amateur.
