Welcome --senior citizens of S5 and S4 League veterans-- to the S5 Retirement Home. Sit back, have a cup of tea with Metamucil and relax. Now, remember that time you CSpammed your way off the ramp in Station-2 and you thought it was the funniest thing ever? Or that one time you spent an hour playing dress-up in the shop because you couldn't find a good black & yellow set? Go ahead and share your most memorable moments with your fellow S4 League retired players.

Edit: Cheerios and prunes off the menu since they've been found to be extremely offensive.

Can a war veteran come in? I'll shout at everything and anyone, reminiscing about the times I shot some germansrandom scrubs back in WW2Versus.

That one time I actually did my first full storm wind before I went into the goal... only to be pushed backwards while spinning and falling off the bridge.

I spent more time in s4 trying to come up with outfits that were yellow and black than actually playing the damn game hahahahah.

I always remember back to when I first started streaming, I think that's when I really started to enjoy S4. Basically I had just hit semi-pro and was learning about who was a boss and what teams were amazing and stuff like that. Hikkie just mentioned in the irc that he was going to stream and s5 match so I said i'd do commentary and I suppose that's where it really kicked off. It was fun for me because it gave me an opportunity to get other people hyped about the same things that made me excited. A lot of players really enjoyed the aspect of their friends watching them and having a commentator announce their every move and in some cases praise them for intelligent plays. Some matches I remember were so intense that I'd really have almost no chance to breathe except when someone reset the ball and then I'd get a few moments to catch my breath.

The other aspect that i'll always remember of S4 is being the team leader, it was really fun for me to give the pre-game hype-up or the half-time improvement/keepdoingwhatyouredoing speech it was always fun to play against the teams with a lot of confidence, just to see if we could break their confidence. Beating teams with players that are individually scary but as team you defeat is something really cool.

I also really enjoyed trying to get good with an unorthodox playing style, hmg semi rail wings, which at the time didn't have anyone with that set except I believe toya, which I didn't find out about until I was level 40+. Trying to play in a competitive match without the bonus of 30 hp is definitely hard as hell when you consider all "killers" or "dmers" or players who play the roll of shooting/damaging as opposed to running the ball all sport 30hp. So it was always a task to try and make my set work, and I'd like to think I did pretty good at it.

The rate of improvement needed to catch up was also ridiculous. I started playing and by the time i realized I wanted to be good, everyone was already pro rank or 1 bar on their pro rank. So I had a lot of catching up to do. I played a bunch and vastly improved and I feel by the time I was level 27 I finally started building a reputation for myself and being confident in my own skill, between like 27-41 was my sweet spot where I vastly improved at very quick rate and I was really proud of it. At level 32 I decided to make a montage, hahaha and attempt to redeem the awful ones I had made in the past, so that was a really fun process too. I think I played 3 or 4 games on different maps and then made a vid. At around 41 was when hackers started to populate s4 as well as FP handgun super speed demons that I always found dumb. So I guess I could say I stopped playing right at pro rank, but it was fun while it lasted. Kudos to those that got to a higher level than I did, I think im 44 but thats over like a year and random casuals/ "not playing srs"

I really miss the era between the handgun nerf and the appearance of forcepack weps. To me those were the best days of S4 and I had a blast playing at that time. Met so many cool people and different personalities over s4 and s5 that it makes me sad that I don't play anymore sometimes.

I suppose I'll respond later with specific moments/memories if I feel like, but I'll leave it at this for now hahaha

The first time I used the Airgun (and ultimately fell in love with it afterwards):
It was a Chaser match, in Circle-2, and I was "It"... I had wings and was trying out the Airgun. I dropped down on my opponents and blew four of them off the map at once. The most puzzling part was that they all died in order of their targets.

I've only been playing S4 League since last winter, though. I already have some memorable moments, but there will be more in the future; possibly better ones since I will have more friends to experience them with.

I really wish I had recorded many of those matches. The first few were the best, the livestream chat was also pretty damn funny. Some of the best moments:

--> That Impromptu Revolver Tutorial
--> That one day cautioN had coffee before a match and coudln'tstoptalkingatathousandmilesperhour.
--> Lion King songs.
--> Frail & cautioN, best commentator combo.
--> That one time cautioN made fun of Grave. Oh wait--
--> That high-pitched "OH MAI GAWWWD" . I still have that in my MSN sounds folder.
--> Team Hogwarts -- "Hermione is gonna have a chance, she's gonna put it in!"

i wish we could all make threads and prohibit things we find annoying from being said

anyway my favorite part of s4 was finding new pros, back when pro rank was a little rarer

i felt like each one was special and there wassomething i could learn from them, now its common though due to time and exp outfits and no longer feel that way

It was clearly said in jest, unless you think I'd really take your prunes out of your cereal.

In any case, most annoying offtopic posts that are irrelevant and just clearly looking to bash on someone get removed anyways, and 100% so when people actually use the report feature.

It's removed because it wasn't intended to be interpreted the way it was, it was more saying "no bashing about x or y player" and not "if you say anything annoying i'll remove your post." I'm not taking it seriously, it's just funny that you have something against all moderators because 2 of them do stupid things. Seriously, if someone does something stupid/inappropriate just report it. (Even moderators) Just don't post passive-aggressive posts every time a moderator says something.

If you think a rule is unfair, bring it up with me, infact I'm on your side on the whole one word posting deal, I think it's a stupid rule when there are so few people on the board anywaysl, maybe we can get that rule removed.

I don't have anything against you or femme i think you guys are great, seriously

you are assuming things, neither of you have ever done anything to me and i have absolutely no reason to be disgruntled with either of you it was just a one-liner wise crack not some deep unresolved issue i have with you

I know, I know, I'm just saying. I've seen unfair rulings/threadlocks/unapproved posts by other mods and I just wanted to make it clear that that isn't how all mods of S5 act.
